Group 4 Technology (G4Tec) Introduces its new Symmetry™ M2150 8DBC Controller

Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, October 1, 2006 – Group 4 Technology (G4Tec) announces the release of its new Symmetry™ M2150 8DBC Controller, an intelligent controller that provides distributed processing for Symmetry Professional and Symmetry Enterprise Security Management Systems version 6.0 and higher.

Symmetry M2150 is an eight door controller that can expand up to 16 doors. It supports connections to a client PC via a local area network, hardwired communications port, or remote dial-up modem.

The 8DBC integrates peer-to-peer with the new Symmetry ENVS® (Edge Network Video Server), allowing hardware based trigger commands to be executed from the access control panel straight to the digital video system.

The flexible Symmetry M2150 can expand up to 16 readers per controller, and may be networked to form a chain of controllers. Several chains may be linked with up to 32 controllers per chain. Each chain of Symmetry Multinode 2150 series controllers communicates with PCs running the feature rich Symmetry Professional or Symmetry Enterprise security management software. The security management software is used to set up the rules of access control, monitor alarms, produce reports and provides administrative functions at one or more facilities.

The Symmetry M2150 Controller supports a full range of reader technologies including Smartcard, Biometrics, Proximity, Magnetic Stripe, and Wiegand. Several default card formats are automatically programmed as standard. Custom card formats may be defined, providing an important benefit when integrating existing cards with a new security system.

The Symmetry M2150 8DBC Controller is an eight door intelligent controller that provides flexible configurations for up to:

• 56 monitoring points
• 12 auxiliary outputs
• 250,000 cardholders
