Group 4 Technology’s XML Developers Kit Provides Effortless Communication

Tewkesbury, England, August 5, 2005 – Group 4 Technology’s latest version of security management software is now better than ever with the addition of an XML Developers Kit.

The XML Developers Kit is an optional module used with Group 4’s multiMAX security management system to enable the development of programs that can control and exchange information with the security management system. Employing industry-standard XML and Web Service technologies, the Developers Kit achieves easy communication between different systems despite programming languages or platforms used.

“Communication among systems is critical when seconds count,” said VP of Marketing, Kim Loy. “The Developers Kit allows for the creation of communication interfaces between various facility systems.”

Use the Developers Kit to create interfaces between the security management system and different applications such as building management, intrusion, payroll, personnel or enterprise requirements planning (ERP) systems.

Perform routine security management system operations from an external program, such as importing or exporting cardholder details, opening doors, switching on CCTV cameras, raising barriers and acknowledging alarms.

Additional XML Developers Kit features include:

  • Provides two-way control and exchange of data between the security management system and other systems.
  • Simplifies and standardizes the task of linking diverse systems.
  • Saves time by allowing personnel or other data to be shared between different systems.
  • Enables development of common user interfaces that increase efficiency and reduce training costs.
  • Uses Microsoft®IIS, available free of charge with Windows®.
