SMART Access Control Terminal Provides Flexible Options
HI SEC’s SMART Access Control Terminal is a multi-functional terminal that can be implemented as a stand alone access control system or as an integrated unit in large systems such as ThorGuard or Thor, making it a flexible option for many applications.
The exceptional distributed intelligence technology allows the SMART terminal to continue functioning if communication is interrupted, granting full access. Security never fails, even if your power does.
The SMART terminal manages a card database up to 65,000 active cards and 250 personal groups. It provides full door control via connected I/O modules (wireless, push buttons, external readers etc), can create door rules, and incorporates anti pass back. All programming and maintenance can be carried out directly from the SMART Terminal or using PC based configuration and management software.
The security administrator can program personal messages for individual card holders for added security. The SMART Terminal can be programmed to display a friendly greeting upon entering, or it can show access level status. In the event of an emergency, the display can show a message of “call for help immediately,” and can prevent those who have not entered the building from entering, as well as instruct to get help.
The SMART Terminal contains advanced dual door functionality. This functionality allows you to use a SMART Reader and an External Chip ID Reader to control two doors with separate programming or one door with different access rights on each side.
Combined with the 32 character backlit display, it is suitable for both in and outdoor use.
The SMART Terminal is available in many versions:
- Build the reader into the terminal so it will operate with Proximity and Mifare cards and tags.
- Equip the reader with an interface to be used as an external reader to support Magstripe, Wiegand, Barcode and Proximity.
Networked Systems
In a networked security management system, up to 30 reader terminals can operate on an RS-485 data-bus. If more readers are needed, the ThorGuard system allows practically an unlimited number of readers to be connected using DNA connection.
Integrated Systems
The SMART terminal integrates with ThorGuard and THOR Intrusion Alarm System to provide a complete Security Management System for healthcare facilities, banks, school and universities, commercial buildings, government buildings, military installations and transportation facilities. The SMART terminal acts as a reader for the Access Control System and as a Remote Keypad for the intrusion alarm system simultaneously.
The full integration is based on direct communication on the RS485 system bus, providing a stable environment and preventing false alarms.
